PTO clutch

The PTO clutch model for a diesel engine is normally selected based on several key parameters rather than engine power alone. Different engine power ranges require different clutch torque capacities and sizes to ensure reliable power transmission and durability.

Here are the main matching factors:

Engine Power (HP / kW)
Higher horsepower engines require larger PTO clutches with higher torque capacity.
Typical reference:
Small engines (20–80 HP): light-duty PTO clutch
Medium engines (80–200 HP): medium-duty PTO clutch
Large engines (200+ HP): heavy-duty industrial PTO clutch

Engine Torque
Torque is more important than horsepower when selecting a PTO clutch.
The clutch rated torque must always exceed the engine’s maximum output torque with a safety margin.
